The surface condition of the coating is one of the important indicators to measure the quality of the coating. During the construction and forming process, various coating defects often appear on the surface of the coating, such as orange peel, bubbles, shrinkage, floating color and flower, pinholes, and sagging. Surface control agents are used to adjust these coating surface defects
1. Shrink the edge
Reason: The surface tension of water-based systems is relatively high, and when the volume solid content of the coating is low and the viscosity is too low, such adverse phenomena are relatively easy to occur.
2. Shrinkage cavity
Reason: Poor substrate treatment, harsh construction environment, and uneven compatibility of materials in the coating formula can all lead to shrinkage.
3. Orange peel
Reason: During the drying process of the coating, the solvent evaporates, resulting in a high surface tension on the coating surface, an increase in viscosity, and a decrease in temperature. This leads to surface tension gradients and viscosity gradients between the coating surface and the inner layer, resulting in the formation of defects.
Product features: dispersion, wetting, leveling effect, solving shrinkage/fisheye phenomenon
Scope of use: Can be used in water-based coatings, high-end wood coatings, adhesives, printing pastes, papermaking and other industries; It can also be used in powder systems such as calcium carbonate, talc powder, kaolin, silica, etc.
